Invitation for Bids for “Construction of 200 Bed KIOCH-Kathmandu Children’s Hospital Building”

  1. Kathmandu Institute of Child Health invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the “Construction of 200 Bed KIOCH-Kathmandu Children’s Hospital Building ‘.
  2. Under National Competitive Bidding – Single Stage Two Envelope Bidding procedures.
    Only eligible bidders with the following key qualifications should participate in this bidding:
  • Minimum Average Annual Construction Turnover of the best 3 years within the last 10 years: NRS 82,81,30,273.00 (eighty two crore eighty one lakh thirty thousand two hundred and seventy three only)

The special conditions to qualify for the bid process is a part of the document defined in the Section IX of the Special Condition of Contract of the contract document as a part of the bid document.

  1. Under the Single Stage, Two Envelope Procedure, Bidders are required to submit simultaneously two separate sealed envelopes, one containing (i) the Technical Bid and the other (ii) the Price Bid, both in turn enclosed in one sealed envelope as per the provision of ITB 21 of the Bidding Document.
  2. Eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of Kathmandu Institute of Child Health, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Ward No. 7, Hepali Height, Kathmandu.
  3. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased from the office of Kathmandu Institute of Child Health, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Ward No. 7, Hepali Height, Kathmandu  by eligible Bidders on the submission of a written application, along with the copy of company/firm registration certificate, VAT/PAN registration certificate and Tax Clearance Certificate of FY 2077/2078, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of NRS 15,000.00 deposited at Kathmandu Institute of Child Health’s current account No. 001010010002063 maintained at Sanima Bank Limited, Main Branch, Naxal  till Baishakh 2, 2079 during office hours.
  4. Pre-bid meeting shall be held at Kathmandu Institute of Child Health, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Ward No. 7, Hepali Height, Kathmandu at 1.30 pm on Chaitra 22, 2078.
  5. Sealed bids must be submitted to the office of Kathmandu Institute of Child Health by hand/courier before 12.00 noon on Baishakh 4, 2079. Bids submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
    The bids will be opened in presence of Bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 2:00 PM on Baishakh 4, 2079 at the office of Kathmandu Institute of Child Health.
  6. Bids must be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a Bid Security amounting to a minimum of NRS 3,03,64,776.00 (three crore three lakh sixty four thousand seven hundred and seventy six only) deposited at Kathmandu Institute of Child Health’s current account No. 001010010004971 maintained at Sanima Bank Limited, Main Branch, Naxal or an unconditional bank guarantee from a “A” class Commercial Bank which shall be valid for 30 days beyond the validity period of the bid.
  7. If the last date of purchasing and /or submission falls on a government/ KIOCH holiday, then the next working day shall be considered as the last date. In such case the validity period of the bid security shall remain the same as specified for the original last date of bid submission.
