There is no foundation for our hospital without land. We are therefore very pleased that we have also been able to take an important next step in granting the land. Without conditions, the municipality of Budhanilkantha has assigned the land to us on a multi-year basis and under free lease

The Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) is looking for an international communications coordinator who combines a strategic mind with a hands-on attitude. For all the details look here!   

It all starts with people. People who are inspired by and become dedicated to the dream of our initiators Prof. dr. Bhagawan Koirala and Mr. Deepak Raj Sapkota. Dedicated to making the KIOCH specialised children’s hospital come true by investing their network and expertise. Our Advisors to the Board are three of these dedicated people. Coming from different professional backgrounds, they each have their unique knowledge which is invaluable to setting up KIOCH. Prof. dr.

We are very happy to announce the first investors who will contribute to making KIOCH’s specialized children’s hospital a reality! A very committed private donor and Triodos Foundation will donate part of the start-up costs. Together with them, we are looking for the final two investors to create a group of Founding Funders and make up the total start-up costs of € 105,000.

Some great valuable conversations today for the specialized children’s hospital KIOCH in Nepal! One of the conversations was with prof dr Bob Pinedo, our technical advisor to the board of KIOCH. He was able to help us to some contacts for construction. We are very thankful for his time and commitment to help us! We are in the middle of searching for our first seed money of 105.000 euro. Mr. Deepak Raj Sapkota initiated KIOCH, together with Prof. Dr. Koirala. After working in the field of child rights and child care for the past 15 years. Deepak is Founder and Executive Director of Karuna Foundation Nepal, a children’s hospital is what he knows is needed for children in Nepal and therefore his long lived dream to fulfill.

Introducing Prof. Dr. Sudha Basnet

Dr. Sudha Basnet is a Professor of Paediatrics at Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu. She has worked as a medical doctor for 25 years and a paediatrician for the past 15 years in Nepal.
